Our very first Next Level Worship Conference in Deridder, LA went incredibly well! We had close to 120 people who attended, representing several local area churches. We received the letter below from Frank Nihart, who is the worship pastor who hosted our first Next Level Worship Conference. It is clear from this letter that he was very satisfied with the results of the conference.

Dear Dwayne,

       Let me say again how well our people and the surrounding area churches responded to the Next Level  Worship Conference. To many, it was a day of new insight on the subject of worship and praise. It is my opinion that most Christians don’t realize how dominant and daily worship should be in our lives. Similarly, choir members, praise team members, pastors and even worship leaders could all benefit from your teaching about being “ministers ‘through’ music.”
       The large group worship/teaching times you led were, to quote one attendee: “able to meet all our needs.” They went on to say they were inspired to serve more readily and better recognized their calling as a worship leader.
       The small group sessions were effective to the point that great teaching was done in a compacted schedule. These sessions informed the attendees and whetted their appetites to pursue greater skill and knowledge in the various subject/ministry areas.

Hey everyone!

Just a quick note to let you know where we are this week. We are at the InnovateChurch Conference in Lynchburg, VA with a thousand pastors! It’s been a fabulous week of encouragement and challenge thus far. Rick Warren, Chuck Colson, Jim Cymbala and Jonathan Falwell are among the featured speakers. My dear friend, Charles Billingsley, is leading the praise times and teaching some workshops on worship.

The conference graciously featured a sample of our book, Pure Praise, in every conference folder! So we’ve been able to share about the study with a lot of the folks up here. Charles has also recommended it to the worship leaders here at the conference, which I greatly appreciate!

Our good friend, Keith Hibbs, has invited us to help lead a worship leader state-wide conference in May. Part of Alabama Southern Baptists’ Leader Connect emphasis, this conference at Shocco Springs Conference Center near Talledega, AL is for all the associational music directors across the state.

I will be leading worship conferences in Botswana, Africa during this time. Thus, John Martin, our VP of Development for Next Level Worship, will be speaking at the AL conference, which is May 8-9, 2008. He will be teaching from our worship study, Pure Praise (Group Publishing, December 2008).  John will be teaching the Five Essentials for Effective Worship Gatherings from Week 5 of the study and the Five Goals for Lead Worshipers from Week 8.
