FREE Christmas Dinner Theater Christian Play!

Street peddler talking to mom and her son

FREE for LIMITED TIME ONLY:

If Christ Had Not Come is a 2-act play written by the author of Pure Praise and 30 Days of Renewal, Dwayne Moore, and his wife, Sonia. This 45-minute play is both powerful and effective in presenting the Gospel message of hope in Jesus Christ in a fresh and entertaining way.

If Christ Had Not Come requires a 12-member cast, and 3 or 4 extras with ”bit parts.” A chorus of carolers is needed for the second act.

Act 1 describes a dismal world where Christ has never come. Act 2, on the other hand, contrasts a world where Christ has come and brought awesome hope and life. The setting is the same in both acts. The date in both acts is December 24. The characters are the same in both. However, in Act 2, the city sidewalk setting is now filled with Christmas lights and caroler’s music. And while the characters are the same, several of them have very different attitudes and actions, because in Act 2 they now have the joy and love of the Messiah.

We recommend you do this play as a part of a dinner theater within your church. When Dwayne’s church did this play, they first had a sit-down dinner for everyone who attended, then presented the play. Because the play is strongly evangelistic, several people trusted Christ as Savior at the end of the play. For more about it, go here and read what The Alabama Baptist newspaper reported.

Below is an excerpt from the end of both acts. Note the stark difference in the mother from hopelessness in Act 1 to hope in Act 2.

Part 2, Customer Reviews for Pure Praise Devotional Study

August 1st, 2009 No comments

Great Worship-focusing Tool!

By Monica Phillips (Montrose, CO)

Pure Praise is a great worship-focusing tool. With seven topics inside nine weeks, Mr. Moore has a potent and relevant way of focusing our attention on what we do in worship, how we do it, and why we do it.
My team and I really enjoyed building our understanding of the central passage, found in 2 Chronicles 20. This particular story is one not commonly “unpacked” for study, but it became especially influential as Mr. Moore walked us through the methods and means used by the people of Judah. I had never before viewed this particular story as one teaching on worship. Now, I’ll never forget it. We also found ourselves enjoying the group discussion tool at the back of the book, which accompanies each week’s study. Knowing I could work through the study day by day (as my team did the same) and have a tangible group tool ready to use was of great significance to me. Many of the exercises within the group discussion helped us develop community and learn more about each other. Pure Praise is a tool I will use over and over as I develop my team toward heart-felt, expressed, pure praise.

This Book Changed Our Team!

By Streeta Jayne (Phoenix, AR)

Great devotional! Even though we’ve only done the first week, it has truly changed our worship team!

Great Devotional!!!,

By Laird H. Wegner “Laird Wegner” (Blaine Mn)

This is a must-have for all worship leaders and their teams. Tom is an awesome leader and a great writer. He captures a lot of great thoughts in his book Pure Praise. You MUST read this!!

Blessed reading!

By Jane E. Stanford (New England, USA)

I am a worship leader and usually rely on Oswald Chambers to wake me up with my bible reading. It is essential, in my opinion, to walk with the Lord from the morning to evening. I have read (tried to read) many other devotionals that have laid flat like a proud spirit before the Lord. When I started to read Pure Praise I was challenged in ways Mr. Chambers had never done. I am not saying that My Utmost for His Highest is lacking, I am just saying that he has an application that is not specific for worship leaders like “Pure Praise” is. I love this devotional and will use it again and again. May God continue to use Dwayne Moore more and more….and You as you read it before the Lord and Savior.

Wonderful

By Daughter of the King “avidreader” (San Antonio,TX)

I received Pure Praise at the 2008 Worship Leader’s Conference. I met Dwayne Moore, after a class he taught on Worship Leading. Pure Praise is an awesome source for any leader/pastor or team member. Read more…

Why Pure Praise Doesn’t Quite “Cut It”…

July 17th, 2009 No comments

pure-praise-frnt-coverLast night, I sat up until midnight reading page after page from Google about Pure Praise. I was overwhelmed at how many churches and people are going through this Bible study. (I remember as I was writing it how I wondered if anyone other than my mom would read it!) However, it has already sold more in 6 months than many books ever sell. Only God could do that!

Buried several pages deep on Google, I came across yet another blog of a person who was reading Pure Praise. However, what this lady wrote took me off guard — and certainly quieted my euphoria a bit from all the great comments I had read from other sites thus far! She wrote, “I was reading Pure Praise, but it just wasn’t cutting it. I found myself going, ‘You know what? I just want to read the Bible.’” Read more…

Dramatic Responsive Reading for 4th of July Service

July 2nd, 2009 No comments

Here is a powerful dramatic and responsive reading that works great for a Fourth of July Celebration Service. It  is excerpted from the House of Representatives Resolution 397 (111TH CONGRESS, 1ST SESSION). It highlights in chronological order many evidences of how the United States of America was founded on God and why therefore it should continue to be a Christian nation.

This Dramatic Reading needs 4 people and takes 9 minutes to read. We encourage you to play a building rendition of Battle Hymn of the Republic or a similar patriotic song to accompany the reading.
